After Ocala-News.com published a story about a Roses location in southwest Ocala that will be converted into a Big Lots, several residents wrote in to share their opinions about the news. Here are a few of those letters:

“Yes, I will [visit the new Big Lots]. I went down to Fort Myers last month and saw a transformed Big Lots. They will have more in the way of clothing, the same food options and some furniture. Back in the days when the old Big Lots was called Big Lots and Odd Lots (think Ollie’s), you couldn’t keep me away. I have visited Roses quite a bit since I moved from Fort Myers and I like it. Unlike Kmart or Sears, this is a good marriage. Roses fans: Don’t worry, be happy.” – Randall Sundeen, Ocala

“I am so happy to see that Big Lots will be coming to Ocala. I love Big Lots. They have many things at a cheaper price and some things you can’t always find in stores. I bought several furniture pieces there as well. I like that it’s a quick shop store is you need a last-minute item.” – Alison Polish, Ocala

“We were disappointed to hear that Big Lots was closing in Ocala. I bought certain products at Big Lots that I don’t get at other stores like toilet paper and garbage bags. It’s hard to get the 8 gallon bags at other stores. But Big Lots always had them.” – Olive Franco, Ocala

“Yes, I will definitely visit the new Big Lots store that will reopen. Thank you Roses, I was so sad when they were closing all the Big Lots stores. I can’t wait for the reopening of a Big Lots store.” – Michelle Marchant, Ocala
