To the Editor:
What were they thinking when they put in the half mile dividers in the middle of the road in the city? You can’t even access businesses on the other side of the road, you sit for a half an hour at a light that you had to go a mile beyond where you wanted to go just to reverse direction. It’s absolutely crazy.
Also, getting rid of the bike path on the right hand side that could’ve made sense if you had actually made the lane wider but instead you put this dead space in there with a curb. What the heck is that supposed to fix? You’ve made the lanes narrower and made the turns much longer.
Traffic is bad as it is. Bikers are stuck either on the sidewalk or on the road where they should be. They have to follow the rules of the road so they have to do the same thing. It just doesn’t make sense and who the heck approved this mess and let them get that far with the plan? It has to be changed.
I can’t imagine businesses are not complaining, people can’t get to them. I don’t even go that way anymore unless I absolutely have to and maybe that was your point? To get traffic off SR 200 rather than improving it?
The state engineers should have to design it all over again and pay for the revisions with money other than taxpayer money. Also, east of I-75, the speed limit on SR 200 should be 35 mph rather than 45 mph.
