An anonymous tip led to the arrest of a 46-year-old Dunnellon man after he allegedly posted a message on Facebook threatening to open fire on his neighbors’ houses and shoot their children.
On Thursday, July 31, the Marion County Sheriff’s Office receiving the tip, which stated that a man residing on SW 181st Court in Dunnellon had allegedly threatened in a Facebook post to shoot at neighboring properties. The man was identified as Vincent Michael Debowe, according to the arrest report.

The report stated that the Facebook account, which belonged to Debowe, posted the following message on Wednesday, July 30, shortly after 5:30 p.m.:
“If they don’t (expletive) arrest these neighbors for poisoning me and being on this power and doing this everywhere I go I will start firing on their houses and shooting their children in their faces (expletive) stalking trash will die and thier little families of the sherrifs office too (expletive) cowards!!!”
On July 31, the corporal made contact with Debowe over the phone and confirmed that he was the only person with access to the Facebook account in question. The corporal noted that Debowe admitted to posting numerous videos and photographs on the account.
The report mentioned that Debowe was previously trespassed from one of his neighbors’ homes in April of 2025 after he was allegedly caught on the property taking pictures of the license plates on the neighbor’s vehicles.
Due to the threatening message that Debowe allegedly posted on his Facebook account on July 31, he was placed under arrest and booked into Marion County Jail the following day. He is currently being held there without bond, and he is being charged with making a written threat to kill or cause great bodily harm.
On Tuesday, September 2, Debowe is scheduled to appear in court at 9 a.m., according to jail records.
