To the Editor:
I was born and bred in Florida. It saddens me to see Florida growing as fast as it is, but it is going to because it is paradise. People come for a visit and decide they want to live here, and so they move here. As soon as people move here, they decide they want to stop growth and so they start demanding no more subdivisions be built and all the land stay green. I wish it were so, but it’s not going to be.
The problem is us.
Those of us who were born here and those of us who move here. People want to live here and it’s silly especially for newcomers to decide as soon as they move here to close the door and stop the growth.
It didn’t stop before you got here and it won’t stop now? Stop complaining and just make sure we buy as much land for public use as we can. That’s the only way we’ll keep any vestige of Florida green.
