Lanes on State Road 200 and Interstate 75 will be temporarily closed at various points this week as construction crews stripe, install new signs, and relocate gopher tortoises, among other tasks.
According to the Florida Department of Transportation, motorists should expect single-lane closures on northbound I-75, at exit 354 (U.S. Highway 27) in Ocala on Tuesday, September 9, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The closure will be in effect to allow for lighting repair work.
There will be additional northbound, shoulder closures from County Road 484 to SR 200 for clearing and grubbing gopher tortoise relocation. Those closures will take place every day this week through Friday, September 12, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day.
A northbound single-lane closure will be in effect from County Road 462 to CR 484 for waterblasting and restriping. That closure will be in effect through Friday, from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. each night/morning.
On State Road 200, closures will impact traffic between I-75 and U.S. 301 for the installation of pull boxes, power services, pedestrian poles, lighting, signage, and landscaping.
Those closures will be in effect through Saturday, September 13, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. Additional closures will be in effect from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. each day for striping and sign installation.
The upgrades are part of the Florida Department of Transportation’s efforts to enhance State Road 200 in Marion County and I-75 in Marion and Sumter Counties, from south of State Road (S.R.) 44 to S.R. 200. Another project, scheduled to begin in late summer 2025, will focus on enhancements from S.R. 200 to S.R. 326 (FPID No. 452074-1) in Marion County.
