A 44-year-old man traveling on a Marion County roadway on Friday died after he overturned his Jeep and was ejected from the vehicle.
The fatal accident occurred approximately three miles south of the intersection of State Road 19 and County Road 314 in Marion County on Friday, October 31.
According to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol, a man from Palatka was driving a yellow Jeep Wrangler southbound on SR 19 at around 3:50 p.m.
Approximately three miles south of the roadway’s intersection with County Road 314, the Jeep left the roadway and traveled onto the right shoulder, where it overturned.
The driver was ejected from the Jeep and was taken to the Ocala Regional Medical Center. He was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
According to the FHP report, the man was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
