An Ocala native who has starred in at least ten television series and films during his multi-year career will portray the title character in an upcoming sports comedy.
Jackie Kay will star in “Signing Tony Raymond” a new sports comedy that tells the story of a college football coach who is sent to rural Alabama to try to sign the nation’s top high school defensive end (Tony Raymond).

Kay plays the titular character, Raymond, alongside a cast of several well-known actors: Michael Mosley, Mira Sorvino, Charles Esten, and Rob Morgan.
In addition to the slate of actors, the film’s cast also includes at least two former National Football League players in Brian Bosworth and Marshawn Lynch. The film was written and directed by Glen Owen.
“Signing Tony Raymond” premiered as an official selection at the Austin Film Festival on October 24. The movie’s runtime is one hour and 45 minutes, according to the International Movie Database.
A graduate of Forest High School, Kay played soccer collegiately at Flagler College on Florida’s east coast.

Kay has starred in several different television series since 2019, including a recent role in “Monster,” a popular serial killer series on Netflix.
In a brief statement posted on his social media accounts when the trailer premiered, Kay expressed excitement at the new project’s release.
“So damn proud of this movie and honored to help bring this story to life. Football. Family. And navigating the crazy world of sports,” reads the statement.
“Signing Tony Raymond” will be in theaters in January 2026, although an exact release date has not yet been announced.
