A woman claims she slipped and fell over broken eggs at a Sam’s Club in Ocala, causing her “permanent physical injury.”

Ana Cristina Santamaria filed the lawsuit against Sam’s East, Inc., in the Fifth Judicial Circuit Court of Marion County on November 18.

According to the complaint, Santamaria was visiting the Sam’s Club located at 3921 SW College Road in Ocala on July 24, 2024.

During her visit, Santamaria claims that while she was walking, she came in contact with a “slippery floor” that represented an “unreasonably dangerous condition.”

The lawsuit describes the condition as “broken eggs” on the floor.

After Santamaria allegedly walked over the broken eggs, she claims she slipped, fell, and sustained “permanent physical injury and resulting pain and suffering.”

Santamaria’s attorneys argue that Sam’s Club was negligent in allowing the “hazardous” condition to exist.

Santamaria claims she has suffered medical and hospitalization expenses and that she will continue to suffer losses in the future. She is seeking in excess of $50,000 in damages.

Santamaria is represented by the Law Office of Nooney, Roberts, Hewett, and Nowicki, which is based in Jacksonville.
