After an influx of letters from Marion County residents who have criticized recent changes made to State Road 200, multiple readers shared opinions contrasting those. Here are a couple of those letters:

“I am so tired of seeing all these letters breach the level of worthy news and wasting valuable continent space. Today’s Letter to the Editor is a perfect example. A person stating they have been to some of the busiest cities and SR200 is the worst. Well, that is as small minded as NY, CA, Washington, Maryland, and so many places world wide are much worse. Let the city planners and FDOT do their jobs and be thankful for the work they do. No, I do not work for them as I am a military war vet and current health care worker. Please stop with the near daily SR200 bashing. It is not constructive.”Roger Hughes, Ocala

“To all you people out there complaining about the new medians installed along SR 200, shut the heck up. This was the best traffic accident deterrent to happen in this city. I moved here from Ft. Lauderdale/Hollywood area 3 1/2 yrs. ago and you all have no idea what traffic is. Ocala is growing, whether you like it or not and in my opinion, they are doing their best to make driving our roads a bit safer, whether it adds a few minutes to your traveling time or not. You just need to add that travel time to your schedule or find a back road which probably won’t save you time, but maybe aggravation. But I can say, I’ve seen fewer accidents along that route than before the medians were installed. Get over it folks.” – Darcy Bunce, Ocala
