The owners of the World Equestrian Center and Golden Ocala Golf & Equestrian Club just purchased a 77-acre horse farm near their other properties in northwest Ocala for $7.5 million.
According to a deed recorded in Marion County on Friday, Golden Ocala Equestrian Land, LLC, purchased the property at 2599 NW 100th Avenue from Julie Ann Smelser for $7,500,000 on December 9, 2025.

The purchaser is a limited liability company based in Wilmington, Ohio, that is one of several corporate entities associated with the Roberts’ family, the founders of the World Equestrian Center (WEC) in Ocala and the Golden Ocala Golf & Equestrian Club.
The acquisition of Smokey Willow Farm, which is just west of the other facilities, further consolidates the group’s ownership of the land surrounding the world-class equestrian venue.

The farm’s website indicates that Smokey Willow Farm breeds, raises, and trains performance horses.
The property features four residences and extensive equestrian facilities, including 41 stalls across three barns, a covered arena, a half-mile track, and complete breeding facilities (i.e., a dedicated mare and foal barn). The grounds also contain eight large pastures and paddocks.

The centerpiece of the property is a 3,200-square-foot primary home built in 1998, featuring cathedral ceilings, wrap-around windows, and a heated saltwater pool with a diving board.
Additional accommodations on the site include a farm manager’s cottage, a mobile home for staff, and an updated in-law suite with a full kitchen.
Property records indicate the site is currently zoned A1 (General Agriculture) and includes a mix of buildings dating back to 1948, with significant additions made in 1980, 1998, and 2017.
