To the Editor:

Everyone is always complaining about the traffic here. I think things would be better if people on their phones got stiff fines (GPS being an exemption).

You can spot them a mile away by their driving, it’s slower than the flow and weaving in their lane.

This can cause aggression to get away from them. I appreciate Ocala’s “put down your phone” day, but I doubt it was taken seriously. It looked like business as usual.

If people got stiff fines and if they got only so many chances before losing their license, they might finally get the idea.

To quote the Doors, “keep your eyes on the road and your hands upon the wheel!” It’s the “smart” thing to do.
