Your Penny At Work sign in Marion County
"Your Penny At Work" sign in Marion County

To the Editor:

We moved into the Lynn area in 1996; our particular street has been patched a million times over from end to end.

It is a short cut from Sharps Ferry Road to SR 40. When was the last time it’s been resurfaced?

In 1996, it was bad. It’s even worse now. Every time I seen a sign saying “your pennies at work,” I have to wonder how many pennies have been wasted on all the patches they lay down each year?

One hole patched, two holes need patching again and again.

In a 30-year period, how much has the county paid the workers to re-patch every other week?

I hear lots of folks always complaining, but no one has the guts to bring it to the county’s attention.
