A Bob Evans location along State Road 200 in Ocala has permanently closed its doors.

The Bob Evans restaurant located at 3535 SW College Road/SR 200 has officially closed for business. A call to the restaurant on Thursday morning confirmed the closure.

“This site has been permanently closed,” says a pre-recorded voice on the line. The message continues with information on the other two Bob Evans restaurants in Ocala and advises diners to visit the Bob Evans’ website to search for locations.

Although the business’s Google listing has not been updated, the location on SR 200 has been removed from the company’s website.

No reason was provided regarding the closure. As of the publication of this story, an email to Bob Evans inquiring about the closure has gone unanswered.

There are currently around three dozen Bob Evans locations scattered across the state of Florida.

In Ocala, the remaining two Bob Evans restaurants are situated at 4985 E Silver Springs Blvd and 11300 SW 95th Circle, the latter of which is around nine miles southwest of the shuttered site.

While the property is owned by NNN Reit, Inc., the restaurant itself is owned by Golden Gate Capital, which purchased the restaurant division from Bob Evans Farms in 2017 for $565 million.

According to several reports from different media agencies, Bob Evans has closed several locations across the country over the past year that have been labeled as underperforming. Over the past 13 months, the restaurant chain has closed locations in Canton (Michigan), Champaign (Illinois), Massillon (Ohio), and Melbourne (Florida).
