“Recent narratives in this forum report “citizens” lining streets and overpasses in protests about the US president and government policies but do not include essential details. For instance, readers might be interested to know if these protesters are indeed citizens of our community or are transporting in from outside. Details like what organizations sponsored these events, who applied for permits and specific numbers of protesters are lacking. Perhaps some interviews with the people protesting would clarify what is behind it all and add color. Was the event peaceful? Was there any opposing protests in response.” – Michael Gilbert, Ocala
“Well, well, well….. Marion county went for Trump by over 65 percent in 2024, now you show us pictures of all the Caucasians out there protesting Trump and the policies of the draft dodging dictator in chief. Nothing disgusts me more than seeing a red hatter thanking a veteran for their service. Everyone was told Trump was a fraud and a liar and now they have to live with their decision. The republicans have talked about repealing and replacing the ACA for a decade and have never presented a plan, they cannot even explain their concepts of a plan. Now white people are loosing their cheap immigrant laborers and they don’t like it, and Florida’s white trash trailer park meth heads are not going to step up to fill the jobs immigrants were doing. Your readers are Nazi’s, Renee Good was executed plain and simple by a Nazi stormtrooper. Read your own Ocala police bulletins, A few years ago Dale Schrewsbury made fools of the Ocala police department and had to be bailed out by a Marion county Deputy sheriff. Shrewsbury put dozens of lives in danger and got off with only a two year sentence. One of the Ocala officers was in fear of getting a scratch on his squad car which allowed the chase to continue and continue to put lives at risk.” – Valentine Hemmer, Belvidere, Illinois

“I find the MAGA cult has begun the dictatorship by allowing non law enforcement agents into cities and demand they have the power of the president. They are aggressive, abusive, just plain unamerican. We the people are under attack and the top of our government is leading the charge to destabalise our constitution. Dictatorship is not America. Our country has really lost its way and now we survive on fear of losing our way of life. All the hatred, all the constant negative talk not only from the President but from all the Trump supporters driving hate and complete negativity across the counry. Back in the 60s George Wallace ran for president as a bigot. Our country did not want to live with hate. We now seem to thrive on fear of being left out of cold. We the people no longer have any power to really have a say. Trump wants the demacratic party gone for his imperioal rule. That is not America this is a Dictatorship. Please everyone Wake up and lets get our country back. I am a retired disabled veteran and served with honor. I have felt more confused and angry watching our beautiful country become a wasteland of mistrust and hatred. I love my country. “It seems to me that if any public official such as the governor or mayor encourage this type of activity with their support and rhetoric should be charged with inciting a riot. One demonstrator admitted she was being paid. There should be a investigation into who is paying them and charge them with inciting. If you cut the head off the snake the body can no longer function.
