A new tea house has opened its doors near the center of Ocala, inviting guests to enjoy traditional tea service and charcuterie in a historic setting.
1890 Tea House is now serving the community inside the Diamond Suites building at 917 E Silver Springs Boulevard.
According to the business’s website, the new venue aims to blend “timeless elegance” with “modern charm,” reflecting the spirit of a bygone era when conversation and connection were prioritized. It markets itself as an ideal destination for private gatherings, including bridal showers, birthdays, and business meetings.
The location, which is features both indoor tea rooms and an outdoor patio that offers a “fresh, garden-like atmosphere.”

The diverse menu at 1890 Tea House is centered around traditional tea service and gourmet small plates.
The all-day menu includes various croissant sandwiches, wraps, and pasta salads, while signature services like the “Afternoon Tea Experience” feature a three-tiered presentation, with the different tiers showcasing a variety of savory and sweet dishes.
Those dishes include cucumber and dill sandwiches, chicken salad canapés, warm scones with strawberry jam and lemon curd, cheesecake-stuffed strawberries, tiramisu truffles, and other confections.
The restaurant also offers an extensive charcuterie menu, allowing guests to build their own boards from a variety of meats (i.e., prosciutto, chorizo, and speck) and cheeses (i.e., brie, aged cheddar, smoked gouda). The menu also lists portable “Charcuterie Cups,” including a “Classic Ocala” version and a “Kids Picnic” option.

In addition to a wide variety of teas, ranging from Earl Grey and Darjeeling to Matcha and Chai, the beverage menu includes a full coffee bar serving espresso, lattes, and cold brew. For those seeking adult beverages, the tea house serves wine, beer, sangria, and mimosas.
1890 Tea House is open Wednesday through Sunday. Hours are 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday, with extended hours until 9:00 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. The shop closes at 4:00 p.m. on Sundays and is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.
