A rapidly expanding “dirty soda” franchise is bringing its popular customized drinks to Ocala, taking over a former coffee drive-thru location that recently shuttered.

Swig will open its first Ocala location at 920 N Pine Avenue, occupying the building that formerly housed OLA Drive-Thru Coffee.

Corporate records show that the new location is registered to Pine Ave Drinks LLC, which is owned by Susana and Daniel Lowe.

The Lowes have listed the address as “Coming Soon” on Swig’s official website, though an exact opening date has not yet been announced.

Founded in St. George, Utah, in 2010, the arrival of Swig comes just weeks after OLA Coffee permanently closed the Pine Avenue location on Dec. 5, 2025, following more than two years of operation.

The second and final OLA Coffee location closed shortly thereafter.

Since Swig’s inception, the brand has grown to over 100 franchises across the nation. The Lowes opened the first Swig location in the area in Clermont in 2024. They are also currently working on a new location in Leesburg, at the corner of North 14th Street and Citizens Boulevard. That shop is replacing the HTea0 that closed last year.

Outside of the area, there are also planned Swig locations in Lutz and Fort Myers.

The drink brand is described as the “originator” of the dirty soda concept, which is a carbonated beverage that can be customized with a variety of creams, purees, and flavored syrups.

The chain’s menu features signature drinks like the “Dirty Dr. Pepper” (Dr. Pepper with coconut and lime) and the “Raspberry Dream” (Dr. Pepper with raspberry puree and coconut cream), alongside pretzels and cookies.
