William (Bill) E. Kessel, 91, of Dunnellon, FL passed away January 28, 2026. Born in Edwardsville, Illinois, he was the youngest of 13. He moved to Florida with his family in his teenage years, and graduated from Largo High School.

Immediately after graduation, he joined the U.S. Army where he served overseas, primarily in Germany. After his military service, he got married to his wife Patricia, whom he celebrated 63 years of marriage prior to her passing. They remained in Florida to raise their 3 children and build their life together. He was a contractor for most of his career, priding himself of the quality of his craftsmanship. Even in his free time and retirement, he enjoyed woodworking of all varieties.

Bill was a member of Hope Lutheran Church in Citrus Springs for 35 years and volunteered his time there mowing the grounds.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Patricia Kessel and his son Douglas Kessel. Left to cherish his memory are his daughters Dianna Knoblauch and Deborah Andres and husband Douglas; grandchildren Alexandrea and husband, Jonathan Sterner, Sierra Knoblauch, Matthew Kessel, Rebecca Kessel and Sarah Andres; also surviving is great-granddaughter Laila Shea and daughter-in-law Susan Kessel.
