Lorena J. Perry was born on February 24, 1954, in Fort McCoy, Florida, to the late Clemmon Surmorns and Olevy Surmons(Snow). As a child, she was always timid and loved everyone, but most of all her family.
She attended public schools and graduated from North Marion High School in 1972, where she went on to work for the State of Florida in the corrections medical field. Following her departure, she continued on in the field as a liaison at Davita Kidney Dialysis Center in Ocala, FL, where she would later retire from. After her retirement, she went on to coordinate programs and events as the Pastor’s Executive Assistant at the Pentecostal Full Worship Center, now known as Immerse Church of Ocala.
Lorena was married to her lifelong partner in crime, Charles Perry, Sr., on February 14th,1975, and together they raised five children of their own. But her love spread beyond just her family, and her influence on so many lives is immeasurable. Her presence, gentle voice, and caring guidance are felt by anyone who has had the pleasure of knowing her. She was an amazing sister, friend, devout mother, grandmother, and a living angel.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her children, Charles Perry, Jr., Gabriel Perry, and Leah Perry.
She is survived by her husband and children: Diante Perry(Suzette) of Ocala, FL, Charlandria Perry of Ocala, FL, Shana Perry of Gainesville, FL, Corinthian Perry(LaTeasha) of Ocala, FL, Courtnee Perry of Ocala, FL, and Juanita Pearson(goddaughter) of Ocala, FL.
Her memory lives on through: her siblings, Melvin Surmons(Kwiyon) of Virginia Beach, VA, Apostle Lillie Tuggerson of Ocala, FL, Lillian Edwards-Walker of Kennesaw, GA, Cynthia Robinson of Jacksoncille, FL, and Earnest Surmons(Angie friend) of Jacksonville, FL, and all her aunts, uncles, cousins, grand and great-grandchildren.
Her life was a display of god’s love on earth and the pure, unrelenting will to see the best in even the rainy days; her light will truly be missed.
