A group of aircraft with presidential markings have been traveling through the Ocala International Airport this week in preparation for President Donald J. Trump’s visit to The Villages on Friday.

Three United States Marines MV-22B Ospreys were seen flying as part of the presidential support fleet on Tuesday and Wednesday in and out of the airport, which is located at 1770 SW 60th Avenue in Ocala.

One reader indicated that the aircraft were seen alongside others, including helicopters. The MV-22B Ospreys are operated by the United States Marine Corps and primarily serve to transport staff and Secret Service.

What makes the vehicles special is hybrid tiltrotors that allow them to take off vertically like a helicopter and fly with the speed and range of a turboprop aircraft.

Villages-News.com previously reported that President Trump will speak at The Villages High School at Middleton. Doors open at 11 a.m. and the event is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m.

Trump’s visit on Friday will mark his third to The Villages since taking office. In his first visit to The Villages, which came during his first term, the president stopped at the Ocala International Airport and briefly addressed local residents and media personnel on the tarmac.

In October 2020, the president held campaign rallies in The Villages and Ocala just days apart.

The campaign rally in Ocala was held at the Ocala International Airport and also featured the aircraft that were seen again this week.
