A man with multiple felony convictions has been arrested for allegedly breaking into a Marion County home to steal cash and a PlayStation 5 from his girlfriend’s roommate.
On Tuesday, June 2, at around 3:30 a.m., Marion County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a reported residential burglary at a home located on SE 119th Place in Belleview.
According to the arrest report, the victim arrived home early that morning and discovered that his bedroom’s window-mounted air conditioning unit had been pushed onto his bed.
The victim told deputies that his bedroom in disarray with dresser drawers left open. He reportedly soon discovered that his PS5 gaming console was missing, along with approximately $215 in cash and several pieces of jewelry.
During the incident, the victim’s roommate was allegedly asleep in a separate bedroom. However, the victim had a video surveillance camera in the living room that captured a man walking through the home, according to the report.
After reviewing the footage, the roommate reportedly identified the suspect as 30-year-old Bradley Tyrone Dale Williams, Jr., whom she was dating.
While law enforcement officers were present, the victim confronted Williams regarding the stolen property. Williams allegedly admitted to the theft and offered to return the items if the victim agreed not to report the incident to law enforcement.
The report mentioned that Williams directed the victim to an area on SE 110th Street, where the victim’s PlayStation gaming console and a magazine loaded with “30 live rounds of 5.56 ammunition” were allegedly found inside a bag.
After being advised of his Miranda rights, Williams reportedly admitted to entering the home and stealing the victim’s PlayStation 5. He allegedly further stated that he had recently been laid off from his job and planned on selling the gaming console due to financial difficulties.
A criminal history search of Williams revealed six prior felony convictions, and he is currently on Florida inmate release status.
Williams was placed under arrest and booked into Marion County Jail, where he remains in custody without bond. He is facing the following charges: unarmed burglary of an occupied dwelling, grand theft, and possession of ammunition by a convicted felon.
A court date for Williams has not yet been scheduled, according to jail records.
