Ocala’s first cat cafe is officially open for business, giving local residents the chance to engage with and possibly adopt rescued felines in an inviting environment.
Purrs and Pages, a combined bookstore and cat lounge, is now operating at 1216 E Silver Springs Blvd. The venue stands as Ocala’s very first cat cafe, providing a dedicated space where local humans and rescued cats can relax, read, and interact.

The facility functions as both a community space and an active adoption hub. Business operators state that their core mission is to connect rescued cats with potential permanent homes.
To achieve this, the business works closely alongside local animal rescue organizations. Most of the free-roaming felines living inside the cafe are fully adoptable and looking for a permanent family.

Visitors to the storefront can choose from a few different ways to experience the space. For those wanting direct feline interaction, dedicated hangout sessions can be booked to go inside the designated cat room to play with the residents.
Alternatively, guests can purchase a snack or beverage and browse the bookstore shelves in the front area while watching the cats from a distance. The cafe also plans to host specialty community events, such as Cat Yoga sessions.

The comfortable indoor lounge features cozy seating, cat toys, and feline-themed decor designed to make both humans and animals feel at home.

For residents looking to get involved beyond visiting or adopting, Purrs and Pages is actively looking for local cat lovers to join their team as volunteers to assist with the daily care and socialization of the kitties.
The cafe is open seven days a week, operating from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sundays.

Anyone interested in volunteering, booking a session, or learning more about the ongoing adoption processes can contact the facility directly at (352) 581-5822.
