Bridge to Hope, Inc. will host a groundbreaking ceremony this week to celebrate the upcoming construction of its new facility in Ocala that will be dedicated to helping adults with disabilities.

The ceremony is scheduled to begin at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 2, at the site of the future facility, located at 750 NW 48th Terrace in Ocala.

The event will feature a special appearance by the Ocala Mayor Ben Marciano, and complimentary food and refreshments will be served to attendees.

According to a statement from the organization, the groundbreaking represents their ongoing commitment to growing, serving, and creating greater opportunities for adults with disabilities and the surrounding community for years to come.

Founded in 2012 by Audrey and Ernest Bell, Bridge to Hope, Inc. Adult Day Training Center is a Florida-based 501(c)3 non-profit organization.

The overarching mission of the organization is to empower, restore, and enlighten the lives of individuals through educational training, supportive casework services for the entire family, and active community involvement.

Accordingl, the center is designed to serve as a life skills and developmental training facility, offering an environment with the “comfort of home.”

The program, which has been approved by the Agency for Persons with Disabilities and Medicaid Waiver approved, encourages individuals to partake in various community-related activities and outreach events.

Through a team of experienced and highly trained educators, the organization works to help the lives of individuals by providing training and social skills needed to prepare them for day-to-day living.

The facility’s curriculum covers educational staples including spelling, math, and reading, alongside practical instruction in money management, life skills, gardening, and computer usage, among others.

Additionally, the non-profit offers recreational activities like music, art, games, and movies, while providing essential family support through companion services, personal support, and job placement seminars.
