Deaconess Sadie Murphy Young was surrounded by family as she peacefully went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 28, 2026.Sadie was born September 12, 1944, in Nahunter, Georgia, to the late James Murphy, Sr., and Corene Smart Murphy Cox. She accepted Christ at an early age and attended Union Missionary Baptist Church in Dunnellon, Florida. Sadie was a faithful deaconess, dedicated usher as well as a member of several choirs.

Deaconess Young attended Booker T. Washington High School. She later retired from the Marion County Public School System.

Deaconess Young was proceeded in death by both parents, James Murphy, Sr., and Corene Smart Murphy Cox; dearly beloved son, Reverend Michael T. Murphy, Sr.; and siblings, James Murphy, Jr., Loretta McKeever, Eugene Murphy, Ellen Watts, Henry Murphy, Dr. Glynn Murphy, Wayne Murphy, and Robert Murphy.

She leaves to cherish her memories: three grandchildren, Rozlynn Braynen (Omarr) of Bradenton, Florida, Michael T. Murphy, Jr., and Tania Murphy (both of Dunnellon); three great-grandsons and bonus daughter/niece, Lisa Watts; two brothers, Winston Murphy (Shirley) of Gainesville, Florida, Tommie Murphy (Brenda) of Dunnellon, Florida; three sisters, Lucille Oliver, Vanessa Watts (both of Dunnellon) and Elder Rudene Styles (Mike) of Jacksonville, Florida; three sisters-in- law, Darlene Murphy (St Petersburg, Florida), L. A. omas (Bronson, Florida), and Lois Murphy (Dunnellon, Florida); god-son, Gregory Bullock, and Normai Henry special friend from Crystal River a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, close friends and acquaintances; three special friends, Gail Dukes, Lady Rometha Gilmore, and Cathy Redd; two bonus nieces, Shelinda Easmon and Dorothy Fleming; and bonus son, Willie Kuykendall (Linda).
