Another long-standing downtown Ocala business is preparing to shut its doors, as Pink Hanger Boutique announced it will permanently close at the end of this month.

Located at 20 SW Broadway Street, the boutique is currently hosting an “everything must go” clearance sale ahead of its closure on Friday, July 31.

Owner Tamara Tucker released an official farewell statement reflecting on her 16-year journey, which began modestly before growing into a beloved fixture for local shoppers. Tucker shared that what started with a dream, determination, and clothing carried in the trunk of her car grew into something far bigger than she ever imagined.

“Pink Hanger became a place of friendship, laughter, confidence, and community. I have had the privilege of helping women feel beautiful, celebrating life’s milestones with you, and sharing countless memories along the way,” reads part of the statement issued by Tucker.

Expressing her gratitude to customers for supporting a small business and believing in her vision, Tucker noted that while this chapter is coming to an end, her appreciation for every purchase, kind word, and visit will last forever.

The store is selling all of its merchandise at heavily discounted prices ahead of its permanent closure on July 31.

“Thank you for supporting a small business, believing in my vision, and allowing Pink Hanger to be part of your lives for the past 16 years. As I look back, I am incredibly proud of how far we came – from the trunk of my car to a boutique filled with love and loyal customers who became friends,” said Tucker.

The business was open at its space in downtown Ocala for over a decade and a half.

The boutique’s departure marks yet another high-profile transition along the commercial corridor in the heart of the city.

Pink Hanger is situated directly next door to Stella’s Modern Pantry, which recently cleared out and shut its doors at 20 SW Broadway Street after an 18-year run downtown ahead of its upcoming relocation to the Golden Hills Center on U.S. Highway 27.

Both storefronts are also located just around the corner from La Cuisine, the French restaurant on SW 1st Avenue that abruptly ended its own 17-year tenure last month.
