“While I understand how the lady feels regarding the growth of Ocala, as an “ex Miami resident,” I can honestly say that there is still no comparison from here to there. Yes, there is more traffic and congestion here than 30 years ago, but that is the price you pay to live in a growing area versus one with no (or less) growth. What do you think is bringing in more grocery stores, restaurants and other services? While in Miami recently, I passed at least three accidents on the highway, no more than 10 minutes after the event happened, and multiple police were on the scene, the ambulance had already left and the vehicle(s) were pulled over, by tow trucks that were there, and traffic was being directed through. As opposed to being on US 441 from Ocala to Gainesville yesterday, ten minutes after a car had turned onto its side in the road (blocking it), where an ambulance had yet to arrive, and no tow truck in sight” – An Ocala resident shares his opinion.
