A Citra woman was arrested Thursday morning after a woman claimed she assaulted her in the front seat of a car.
Deputies spoke with a woman who claimed that Tiffaney Renate Lindsey, 35, grabbed her by the hair and pulled her neck back, grabbed her throat, covered her neck and mouth and punched her on the right side of her face, in the temple area and on her cheek.
The victim said she bit Lindsey during the attack when her hands were near her mouth.
The woman told deputies that the confrontation broke out after she drove Lindsey’s husband to work Thursday morning. She said Lindsey insisted on riding with them, even though the couple had argued “all night long” and were continuing to do so right up until the time the man was dropped off at work.
The woman said Lindsey started arguing with her on the trip back home and the physical altercation took place after she pulled into her driveway. She said she honked the horn for help and her son came outside and pulled Lindsey off her.
The report states that the woman didn’t have any visible injuries, but when deputies were speaking with her, she was “heavily applying” makeup.
Lindsey told deputies that the woman started the argument after dropping her husband off at work. She claimed the woman pulled her hair and ear, scratched her left cheek with her acrylic nails, bit her right ring finger and told her “she was going to kill her.” Lindsey also said that when they stopped in the driveway, the woman honked the horn and her son came out and pulled Lindsey out of the vehicle, punched her in the face and slammed her head on the concrete ground several times.
Deputies noticed smeared makeup, what appeared to be a bruise and a red mark on the outside corner of Lindsey’s right eye. But they didn’t see any injuries consistent with “having her head slammed to the ground,” the report says.
Lindsey insisted there were scratches on her cheek and told deputies that an eyewitness could confirm seeing red marks on her face as a result of the victim scratching her. But when deputies spoke with the witness, he said he suffers from blindness and didn’t see any scratches on Lindsey’s face.
Lindsey was transported to the Marion County Jail and charged with domestic battery. She is being held on $1,000 bond.
