Ocala woman dies after van slams into her car broadside at busy intersection

An Ocala woman was killed Tuesday afternoon after her car was hit broadside by a minivan at the intersection of state roads 40 and 326.

Victoria Krause, 28, was pronounced dead at Ocala Regional Medical Center shortly after the crash at 4:14 p.m. She was driving a 2004 Toyota Corolla that multiple witnesses said was hit on its left side when a 1994 Ford Aerostar minivan driven by 55-year-old Annette McBride, of Silver Springs, failed to stop at a red light, a Florida Highway Patrol report states.

McBride suffered “incapacitating” injuries, while a passenger in Krause’s car, 28-year-old Shana Futch, also of Ocala, suffered minor injuries. Both were transported to Ocala Regional Medical Center.

It still hasn’t been determined if alcohol was involved in the crash, the report says, adding that charges are pending.
