Ocala singing phenom Macey Mac may not have made it past the second round of judge cuts on America’s Got Talent, but the 14-year-old knows this is just the beginning.
The NBC talent show, now in it’s 13th season, receives thousands of talented hopefuls each year looking to claim the million dollar prize.
Having been a mainstay performer at the Orange Blossom Opry in Weirsdale for years already, Macey’s confidence on stage was evident.
“This is a dream come true for me,” said Macey to judges Howie Mandel, Simon Cowell, Heidi Klum and Mel B.
She performed a powerful cover of “Done” by The Band Perry and was praised by the judges.
“You stepped it up from the last competition. Well done” said Mel B., the former member of the Spice Girls.
At the end of the night, only six of the 20 remaining acts were chosen to advance to the next round and when the judges passed on their verdict, Macey reacted with poise and optimism.
“This has been a dream for me, even to get this far” said an emotional Mac. “This is just the beginning.”
For this young talent, America’s Got Talent is one step in a career that her local fans will all remember.
