Website hookup leads to Ocala woman being nabbed in prostitution sting

Gidget Marie Temperato

Leesburg police officers arrested an Ocala woman early Sunday morning on prostitution charges after she met an undercover officer at a motel.

Officers had located an ad on skipthegames.com that included “provocative photographs” of a female listed as “Nikki” who later was identified as 50-year-old Gidget Marie Temperato. The ad contained Temperato’s phone number and an “offer for sexual acts,” a Leesburg Police report states, adding that the website containing the “explicit” ad is “commonly used for prostitution.”

An officer contacted Temperato by text with a police department-issued phone and told her he had seen her ad on the website. She confirmed the photographs were recent and said she was available that evening, the report states.

Temperato texted officers that it would be $250 for an hour and said she’s “girlfriend friendly and open to everything,” along with a winking Emoji, the report says. She then requested the address and said she was on the way.

Leesburg Police officers arrested 50-year-old Gidget Marie Temperato on prostitution and drug charges early Sunday morning after she met them at the Deluxe Motel on 14th Street in Leesburg.

Officers entered room 119 at the Deluxe Motel, located at 113 N. 14th Street and waited in the restroom while an undercover sergeant in plain clothes made contact with Temperato. After she entered the room, Temperato said, “Let me get set up” and then removed multiple condoms, a vibrator and lubrication from her handbag, the report says.

The sergeant then attempted to pay Temperato the $250 but she said, “You can give me that after.” The sergeant said he wanted to make sure they could “do it a few times” and Temperato replied, “We will have plenty of time.”

Temperato then said she needed to use the restroom and was met by the other officers, who took her into custody. The vehicle she arrived in was still in the parking lot and the driver identified himself to officers as Temperato’s brother. He told officers she had asked for a ride to “meet a friend.”

After a police K-9 alerted to the odor of narcotics, officers searched the vehicle and found about .8 grams of a substance in a black plastic case that field tested positive for methamphetamine. They found a small plastic bag with a brown powder in it that yielded no results during a test. And two pieces of aluminum foil with burn marks and a clear glass pipe were located, the report says.

When asked about the methamphetamine and glass pipe found inside the vehicle, Temperato told officers “it’s all mine,” the report says. She was then transported to the Lake County Jail and charged with prostitution (second offense), possession of a controlled substance without a prescription and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was held on $8,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Lake County Court Sept. 4 at 8:30 a.m.

A check of Temperato’s criminal history revealed two prior convictions for prostitution following arrests by the Ocala Police Department on June 8, 2012 and the Polk County Sheriff’s Office on Dec. 9, 2016, the report says.
