A Belleview man escaped serious injury in a Monday night crash that claimed two lives in Alachua County.
Christopher Fagan, 36, had been at the wheel of a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado at 7 p.m. at the intersection of County Road 1474 and County Road 219A when a 1993 Chevy Prism driven by 39-year-old Marisol Garcia of Clearwater failed to stop at a stop sign and drove into the path of Fagan’s truck, according to an accident report from the Florida Highway Patrol.
Garcia and a passenger, 40-year-old Robin Rivera of Clearwater, were pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. A 10-year-old passenger, Derek Garcia of Clearwater, suffered critical injuries and was transported to UF Health Shands.
Fagan suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene.
