Marion County sheriff’s detectives arrested an Ocala man Tuesday afternoon after finding child pornography on his home computer.
Brian Robert Altobello, 43, was charged with 20 counts of possession of obscene material depicting child sexual conduct. He was taken into custody after detectives received a tip, and along with deputies, executed a search warrant at his home at 3030 SW 137th Place in Ocala.
After being confronted with the evidence, Altobello told detectives that he “knew he was flirting with danger,” a sheriff’s office report states.
Detectives don’t believe any of the child victims depicted in the computer files are from the local area, the report says, adding that they believe all of the files were downloaded by Altobello from the internet.
Altobello is being held at the Marion County Jail on $100,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in court Oct. 16 to answer to the charges.
Marion County Sheriff Billy Woods said he appreciates the hard work his detectives and deputies put into this case.
“My office is committed to doing all we can to protect these innocent victims,” he said. “We will do everything within our power to seek out and arrest those that want to violate the innocence of children.”
