Two teenagers were pronounced dead at the scene of an accident Monday night in Marion County.
Lindsey Hart, 19, of Ocala, had been at the wheel of a 2012 Mazda at 9:42 p.m. traveling east on State Road 40 when the car left the roadway and struck a tree, according to an accident report from the Florida Highway Patrol.
Hart and a passenger, 19-year-old Leondre Thomas of Ocala, were pronounced dead at the scene of the crash by Marion County Fire Rescue.
The report noted that Hart had been wearing a seatbelt, while Thomas did not have his seatbelt fastened.
The crash remains under investigation.
