One man died Thursday night and another was in stable condition after an incident in Redding.
Marion County sheriff’s deputies were called to a possible shooting in the 15000 block of NW 115th Court at about 9:30 p.m. But when they arrived, they found a man suffering from stab wounds and another man who had been severely battered, a sheriff’s office report states.
The man with the stab wounds was transported to UF Health Shands Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The other man was transported to a local hospital and was listed in stable condition.
Major Crimes detectives from the sheriff’s office responded to the incident and are leading the investigation. The identity of the stabbing victim is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
