Man driving with suspended license nabbed after running through stop sign

Kerman Leonard Williams

An Ocala man who was stopped for running a stop sign was found to be driving with a suspended license.

According to the Ocala Police Department report, an officer saw a blue vehicle traveling south on NW 19th Avenue fail to come to a complete stop at the intersection with West Silver Springs Boulevard at around 2 a.m. Tuesday.

Kerman Leonard Williams, 52, of 136 Almond Road, provided his driver’s license to the officer, who ran a search and saw that it was revoked. A background search revealed that Williams had three previous convictions for driving with a suspended license in 2003, 2007 and 2014.

Williams was charged with driving while license suspended (third or subsequent offense) and taken to the Marion County Jail, where he was released later Tuesday on $2,000 bond. No court date was set.
