Reddick man who pushed pregnant woman jailed after Marion K-9 finds him hiding in grass

Kalob Chandler Lisk

A Reddick man is behind bars after a bloodied pregnant woman called Marion County sheriff’s deputies for help earlier this week.

When sheriff’s deputies arrived Monday at the residence on W Hwy. 318, the woman told them that she had been arguing with 29-year-old Kalob Chandler Lisk. She said she blocked the front door when he attempted to leave and he allegedly shoved her out of the way, causing her to hit a nearby wall with her back, a sheriff’s office report says.

Deputies noted that the woman had a scrape and fresh blood on the top left portion of her shoulder. And the woman said her shirt was soaked because Lisk threw a glass of water on her.

The woman said Lisk knew she was pregnant. She said he left the residence after the violent confrontation but came back and then ran into the woods when deputies arrived, the report says.

Dep. Mohammad Refaei and his K-9 partner, Duder, was then called to the residence to assist in the search for Lisk. A short time later, Duder found Lisk lying in tall grass and apprehended him. While he was being arrested, Lisk “uttered that he was trying to hide from the cops and only pushed the victim to move her out of the way, not to intentionally hurt her,” the report says, adding that Lisk confirmed he knew the woman was six weeks pregnant.

Lisk was transported to the Marion County Jail and charged with domestic aggravated battery on a pregnant victim and resisting an officer without violence. He was being held on $15,00 bond and is due in court on July 23 to answer to the charges.
