Biting attack on treatment center employee lands Ocala woman behind bars

Crystal Gail Lee

An Ocala woman found herself behind bars Tuesday afternoon after she was accused of biting an employee of a treatment center above her right eyebrow.

Marion County sheriff’s deputies responded to The Centers, located at 5664 SW 60th Ave. in Ocala, and when they arrived, an employee told them that a physical altercation had occurred between 39-year-old Crystal Gail Lee, and the employee, who was on the way to Ocala Regional Medical Center for treatment.

An eyewitness told deputies that she and the victim were told to Lee in an isolation room because she was becoming hostile. The witness said Lee yelled out, “That’s the same (expletive deleted) that I jumped on last night” while pointing at the employee, the report says.

The witness said she and the victim were standing next to each other when Lee started to remove her socks. A few seconds later, she charged at the victim and started a physical altercation, the report says.

The witness said she saw Lee bite the victim on her face and then she and another employee “took physical control” of Lee and placed her in the isolation room, the report says.

Deputies attempted to speak with Lee about the incident, but she started to talk about her “baby daddy,’ who she identified as rapper R. Kelly. She claimed that she believed the employee was having an intimate relationship with Kelly and that’s why she became aggressive with her, the report says, adding that Lee said she remembered biting the victim.

The victim told deputies that she was told that Lee had to be placed in the isolation room, so she started putting on gloves. She said Lee removed her socks, made the comment about jumping on her the previous night and then charged at her and started throwing punches, the report says.

The victim said she tried to push Lee backwards and she believes she also bit her left wrist. She said immediately afterwards Lee bit her above her right eyebrow and she felt a sting as she was led out of the room, the report says.

A deputy noted that the victim had a laceration above her right eyebrow that was likely to leave a scar, an injury to her left wrist and what appeared to be a scratch under her left eye, the report says.

Lee was then taken into custody and transported to the Marion County Jail, where she was charged with aggravated battery. She was being held on $1,000 bond and is due in court Nov. 19 at 9 a.m.
