Ocala woman back in jail after squabble with couple

Laxmi Flores-Kadoch

A Panamanian-born Ocala woman is behind bars for the second time in a little more than a month, this time for allegedly battering a man and woman and then taking their cell phones and throwing them across the room.

Laxmi Flores-Kadoch, 29, was charged with battery on a person 65 years of age or older, simple battery, and two counts of obstructing justice by tampering in a third-degree felony proceeding. Her arrest Thursday followed a previous arrest on Jan. 7 on a charge of domestic battery by strangulation.

The victims in the latest incident told a Marion County sheriff’s deputy they came home from the Eagles Lodge and were sitting at the table when Flores-Kadoch came into the home and started screaming. They said they warned her if she didn’t stop screaming they were going to call police, according to the sheriff’s office report.

Flores-Kadoch then took both of their cell phones and threw them across the room. The male victim said he stood up and Flores-Kadoch pushed him to the floor. He said he got up twice and Flores-Kadoch pushed him down again both times, the report said.

The female victim tried to get her phone to call 911 when Flores-Kadoch punched her in the back of the head. She said she got dizzy but was able to place the call to law enforcement, according to the report.

The male victim had wounds on both arms that were bleeding and the female victim complained of pain in the back and right side of her head. Both victims declined medical attention, the report said.

Flores-Kadoch was found hiding on top of some storage boxes in a back room of the residence. She said she was hiding because one of the victims was beating her. Flores-Kadoch had very minor red marks on her arms that she claimed the victim caused, according to the report.

Flores-Kadoch was arrested and taken to the Marion County Jail, where she’s being held on $4,000 bond. She’ll appear in Marion County Court on March 17.
