An Ocala woman was arrested after she allegedly pulled her fiancé’s mother to the ground by her hair and hit her several times during a fight over a towed vehicle.
Selene Isabel Alvarado, 20, of 15345 SW 59th Court, was charged with simple battery after the incident, which happened shortly after 1 p.m. Sunday at the victim’s residence on SW 96th Place.
A Marion County sheriff’s deputy responded to a report of a physical disturbance and spoke with the victim, who said she had her son’s vehicle towed to her residence. She said Alvarado then arrived at the residence and she walked out and told Alvarado she was not allowed onto her property, according to the sheriff’s office report.
The victim said Alvarado grabbed her by the hair, pulled her to the ground and hit her several times in the head with her hand. The deputy observed redness on the victim’s forehead and temple, the report said.
The victim’s son said Alvarado arrived at his mother’s house and his mother told her to leave the property. He said Alvarado struck the victim with her hand and pulled her to the ground by her hair. The victim’s son said he physically separated Alvarado and the victim, according to the report.
The deputy spoke with the tow truck driver, who witnessed the incident. The driver said he saw Alvarado arrive at the incident location and charge towards the victim, near the roadway, and both women pulling each other’s hair. He said he saw Alvarado hit the victim in the face and body multiple times with her hand, the report said.
Contacted at her residence, Alvarado said she was at the incident location to inquire about a vehicle she purchased being brought to the property by a tow truck. She said the victim walked towards her yelling offensive words, entered her personal space, and spit in her face. Alvarado said she pushed the victim backwards and the victim struck her in the face with her hand, by her ear, according to the report.
Based on statements by the victim and two witnesses, Alvarado was determined to be the primary aggressor and placed under arrest. She was taken to the Marion County Jail, where she was released later Sunday night on $1,000 bond. No court information was available.
