Two Weirsdale men were arrested recently after allegedly firing weapons at a victim who was confronting them over a reckless driving incident.

Marion County sheriff’s deputies responded to a residence on Hwy. 25 after receiving a call about a disturbance. When they arrived, it was revealed that 43-year-old John Raymond Matatt had fired a firearm near the victim’s feet, a sheriff’s office report states.
Deputies also discovered that 23-year-old Brandon Matatt was present and also had fired a weapon in the victim’s direction, the report says. Deputies then placed both men under arrest and transported them to the Marion County Jail, where they were charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill. They were each released on $2,000 bond and their next court dates haven’t yet been set, jail records show.
