An Ocala man was jailed recently after his lady friend claimed he attacked her and bit her when she came home for her lunch break.

The victim told Marion County sheriff’s deputies that she was in a lot of pain and thought her tailbone might be broken. She said 27-year-old Nicholus Michael Rauseo had demanded his phone and taken her purse to look for it. She claimed he punched her in the chest, which knocked her to the ground on her back. She also said she had been bitten on the arm, a sheriff’s office report states.

Deputies noted that dirt was on the back of the victim’s shirt and she had what appeared to be a human bite on her upper right arm. Deputies also noted that the bite mark was red and they couldn’t view any bruising on her chest because they were outside in public.

The victim told deputies that Rauseo had run into woods across from the residence. He was eventually located in the 7900 block of S.W. Hwy. 200 and after being read his rights, he said he had been in an argument with the victim. He claimed she had taken off his glasses and scratched his neck, the report says, noting that Rauseo had redness on the left side of his neck.

Rauseo also claimed that the victim fell down while she was backing up and may have hurt her back. He said he didn’t hit her but admitted he might have bitten her when she grabbed his testicles, according to the report.

Rauseo was placed under arrest and transported to the Marion County Jail, where he was charged with domestic battery. He was being held on $5,000 bond and is due in court May 14 at 9 a.m., jail records show.
