The Marion County Sheriff’s Office is reminding area residents that they can now file reports online.
The sheriff’s office hopes offering the online option will be a way to simplify the reporting of certain crimes. It also allows deputies to be available for more critical, high-priority calls.
Go to www.marionso.com and click the button to file a police report online. There are seven different types of reports that can be filed. Residents can find their choice and then click on the image. They also should read over the requirements for the report and if they fit within the description, select “Start Report.”
From there, residents can continue to fill out all the information required and submit the report. They will be given tracking numbers for their reports.
