Ronald Timothy MackA man was arrested recently after he was caught driving a tractor that was reported stolen.

A detective with the Marion County Sheriff’s Office was called to investigate a vehicle theft on N.W. 90th Avenue, where the victim stated that 39-year-old Ronald Timothy Mack of Citrus Springs had stolen her $10,000 tractor.

The victim said she had hired Mack to do work on her farm but he failed to complete the job, a sheriff’s office report states.

The victim told the detective that when she refused to pay Mack for the unfinished work, he stole the tractor, believing it was adequate payment. When he was located nearby driving the tractor, Mack told sheriff’s deputies his license was suspended. Deputies also discovered that he was in possession of heroin and drug paraphernalia, the report says.

Mack was placed under arrest and transported to the Marion County Jail, where he was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance without a prescription, driving with license suspended or revoked and grand theft of a motor vehicle. He was being held on $9,000 bond and is due in court June 22 at 9 a.m., jail records show.
