A Weirsdale woman was charged with battery after throwing a cup at male friend over money.
The victim said 55-year-old Diana Grenier hit him with a cup during an argument. The victim claims he and Grenier were arguing over money and he deiced to lay down on the bed. The victim claimed they continued to argue, leading to Grenier throwing a cup at him which struck him in the left eyebrow. A Marion County Sheriff’s deputy said he saw dried blood marks on the victim’s left eyebrow, according to the sheriff’s report.
The deputy said he had to separate the victim from Grenier who had come outside while the victim and the deputy were talking. The deputy said Grenier appeared to be “heavily intoxicated” and she spontaneously stated she “threw something at him.” She continued to say she was angry and because of that anger, she threw the cup at the victim, according to the report.
The deputy entered the home and observed several items on the floor along with shattered decorations, revealed the report.
Grenier was arrested and transported to the Marion County Jail with a bond set at $500. Grenier was booked on May 26 and bonded out on May 28. Reid was charged with battery and has a court date set for July 13 at 9 a.m., jail records show.
