Woman found with more than 50 grams of marijuana during stop

An Ocala woman who was pulled over for illegal tint on her vehicle, was arrested with more than 50 grams of marijuana.

On June 13 an Ocala Police Department officer observed a vehicle with dark tint near 3100 West SR 400.

The officer stopped the vehicle, conducted a tint meter, and discovered that the driver side was 30%, according to the officer’s report. The legal limit for tint is 28% in the front windows.

While speaking with 23-year-old Ciara Brooks, the officer reported he could smell marijuana. A search of the vehicle revealed a clear plastic baggy with a green leafy substance inside that later field tested positive for THC. A black digital scale and a pill bottle with seven blue circular pills were also found.

The circular pills tested positive for amphetamine and dextroamphetamine. A vape pen was also found that tested positive for THC. The loose marijuana found weighed more than 50 grams, according to the report.

Brooks denied ownership of the pills but confirmed the marijuana and THC pen belonged to her, the report stated.

Brooks was placed under arrest and transported to the Marion County Jail. Brooks was charged with possession of cannabis over 20 grams, possession of THC concentrate, possession of amphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. She had a set bond of $4,000 and was released on June 15.
