Victim claims woman hit him with chainsaw during argument

An Ocala woman was charged with aggravated battery after a man says she intentionally hit him with a chainsaw.

A victim reports that he was arguing with 33-year-old Kathryne Gregory on Wednesday, June 16. The victim claims Gregory hit her with a chainsaw during the argument. He says that Gregory is going through a drug withdrawal and had been verbally aggressive for days. The victim claims Gregory struck him in the left arm and left hand with a small chainsaw before he left the home on foot, according to the sheriff’s report.

A Marion County Sheriff’s officer observed the victim to have scrapes on his arm, consistent with his statements, the report stated.

Gregory admitted she was holding a chainsaw during the argument but claimed she was attacked by the victim, according to the report.

Gregory was arrested and transported to the Marion County Jail with a bond set at $2,000. She was charged with aggravated battery and a court date is set for July 20 at 9:00 a.m., jail records show.
