Ocala Main Street appoints new executive director

Ocala Main Street (OMS) announced last week that its board of directors has appointed Jessica Fieldhouse as its new Executive Director.

“We are fortunate to have someone of Jessica Fieldhouse’s caliber and experience to lead Ocala Main Street,” said OMS Chairman, Ted Schatt. “Downtown revitalization efforts are at a critical moment.  We need strong leadership to successfully position Ocala Main Street to aid local government in implementing growth strategies benefiting our community and taking full advantage of market opportunities ahead.”

Fieldhouse has over 10 years of experience in development and public relations within both the for-profit and non-profit sectors. Before joining OMS, she was Vice President of Resource Development for United Way of Marion County, overseeing their fundraising, marketing, and donor relations efforts. In that role, she was instrumental in leading the annual giving campaign, working with volunteer groups, and maintaining corporate partnerships.

“As someone who has grown-up in Ocala and now has the privilege of raising my family here, I am excited for the continued growth in our community,” said Fieldhouse. “I am honored and ecstatic to lead Ocala Main Street and be part of revitalizing our historic downtown. I am eager to get to work, form new partnerships for the organization and work together as a community to drive economic vitality and engagement to such a unique and loved destination in Marion County.”

Fieldhouse replaced Executive Director Leighton Okus whose resignation was effective July 22, 2021.
