Ocala man allegedly threatens to shoot woman with rifle

A 25-year-old Ocala man was arrested after breaking a window at a woman’s apartment and allegedly threatening to shoot her with a rifle.

On Sunday, a Marion County Sheriff’s Office deputy responded to a SE 29th Place apartment in reference to an aggravated assault.

The female victim told the deputy that she was sleeping when a friend woke her up at around 11:30 a.m.

The friend told her that Patron Gillum was outside of the privacy fence surrounding her porch, and he was trying to get in.

The victim heard glass breaking and Gillum was yelling from outside the apartment. When Gillum got into his vehicle and drove away, she stepped outside and saw that the southwest corner window was broken.

According to the victim, she stood outside for several minutes when she spotted Gillum’s vehicle approaching her residence again.

Gillum’s vehicle stopped in the roadway, and he allegedly climbed out with a rifle in his hand and a pistol in his waistband.

She stated that Gillum threatened to shoot her in the forehead. After making the alleged threats, Gillum re-entered his vehicle and left the area.

The victim claimed that Gillum was accusing her of stealing his weed trimmer from his porch.

The victim’s friend that was at the apartment gave a similar account of what transpired. The friend also recalled overhearing Gillum threaten to “shoot up” the apartment.

No longer feeling safe, the victim drove away from the apartment and stated that Gillum began following her vehicle. She turned into a shopping plaza and Gillum drove away.

The MCSO report indicated that the deputy was shown video footage recorded on a cellphone that showed Gillum near the window, and his yelling was heard shortly after the window shattered.

Gillum was located at his residence. He was arrested, transported to Marion County Jail, and later released on $3,000 bond.

He faces a felony charge for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and a court date has not been scheduled yet, according to jail records.
