A 63-year-old Umatilla man was killed when his vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree in Marion County on Thursday morning.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol incident report, the man was traveling west on County Road 42 in an SUV at around 10:05 a.m.
The man was west of SE 200 Avenue when his SUV exited the roadway onto the south shoulder. He overcorrected and lost control of the vehicle.
The SUV crossed back over the roadway, entered the north shoulder, began to overturn, and struck a tree.
The man sustained fatal injuries during the crash and he was pronounced deceased at Ocala Regional Medical Center.
The name of the driver was not released, per FHP policy.
