The Humane Society of Marion County is inviting children to participate in its reading program.
The Doggone Good Reading Program is being held on Saturday, February 12 and Saturday, February 26 at the humane society located at 701 NW 14th Road in Ocala.
During the free program, each child will read to the dogs, learn how to befriend dogs, and they will also participate in a hands-on craft lesson.
There is a maximum of 12 children per session, and a parent or guardian must accompany each child. While reading, each parent or guardian will wait in a separate area to allow the children to be alone with the dogs.
The program is for children ages 6 to 13.
