Ocala man with suspended license arrested after stealing vehicle

A 34-year-old Ocala man with a suspended license was arrested after a stolen vehicle he was driving was spotted by a Marion County Sheriff’s Office deputy in Citra.

On Friday, February 4, the MCSO deputy observed a vehicle on N U.S. Highway 301 that had been reported stolen out of the Gainesville Police Department.

An MCSO corporal conducted a traffic stop of the stolen vehicle near the 17000 block of N U.S. Highway 301. A man, later identified as Adrian Case Chadwick Collier, stepped out of the vehicle.

A female passenger was also inside the vehicle. The MCSO report stated that she was detained and later released due to not being involved in the vehicle theft.

Collier told the corporal that he borrowed the vehicle from a man named “Mark” around six months earlier. After around four months of using the vehicle, “Mark” asked for it to be returned.

Collier ignored the owner’s request and continued to use the vehicle.

The corporal conducted a computer search of Collier and learned that his driver’s license was suspended indefinitely on September 7, 2021.

Collier was arrested and transported to Marion County Jail where he is currently being held on $3,000 bond. He is facing a felony charge for grand theft of a motor vehicle along with a misdemeanor charge for driving with a suspended license.

A court date has been scheduled on Tuesday, March 8 at 9 a.m., according to jail records.
